Allevato Quail & Associates is a boutique social justice litigation firm located on the unceded lands of xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Skwxwú7mesh and səlil̓wətaʔɬ nations. We handle a wide variety of cases advancing progressive causes with a focus on labour law, defamation, legal interventions, and class actions. Our clients are unions, workers, non-profit organizations, and activists.
We are recruiting a student to start in May 2026. We are also open to applicants who are available to start articles earlier.
The ideal candidate will possess very strong legal research and writing skills, highly developed analytical abilities, and a commitment to producing excellent work. Experience and interest in oral advocacy and social justice are also desirable. While we work collaboratively and provide lots of guidance and mentorship, the sucessful candidate will be expected to take initiative and work toward increasing independence. Our goal is to train students to become capable professionals with excellent judgement, who can think on their feet and solve problems creatively. There are many opportunities to do high-level work including running straightforward grievance arbitrations independently by the end of the articling year.
